Installation Guidelines Pebble Mosaic.

Installing pebble tiles can add a beautiful and natural touch to your space. Natural pebbles can be used both indoors and outdoors, making them ideal for a variety of applications such as bathrooms, pools, walkways, pathways, kitchens, feature walls, and living areas. Our pebbles are hand-sorted and glued onto a mesh backing for easy installation. Natural pebbles are unique, as no two pieces will be exactly alike. It is not unusual to find occasional imperfections and lines of separation within the pebbles. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you through the installation process:


Materials Needed:

  • Pebble tiles
  • Thin-set mortar or tile adhesive
  • Grout (preferably sanded)
  • Trowel
  • Brush
  • Level
  • Sponge & Bucket
  • Cutting Pliers for Stone edges.
  • Safety goggles and gloves

Installation Steps:

  1. Preparation:
    • Ensure that the surface where you will install the tiles is clean, dry, and level. Remove any old flooring, debris, or dust.

  1. Layout:
    • Before applying tile adhesive, lay out the tiles in your desired pattern to visualize the design. This step helps you make adjustments if needed.

  1. Mixing Adhesive:
    • Follow the manufacturer's instructions to mix the thin-set mortar or adhesive. Make sure to mix just enough for the area you plan to cover to prevent it from drying out.

  1. Applying Adhesive:
    • Using a notched trowel, spread the adhesive evenly on the surface. Be sure to create grooves in the adhesive to help the pebbles adhere better.

  1. Setting Tiles:
    • Begin placing the pebble mosaic tiles into the adhesive, pressing them down firmly with a grout float trowel. Use a straight edge to maintain even gaps between the tiles. Check the level frequently to ensure they are even.

  1. Cutting Tiles (if necessary):
    • If you need to fit tiles around edges or corners, use a tile cutter or wet saw to make precise cuts.

  1. Grouting:
    • Once the pebble mosaic tiles have set (usually 24 hours), mix the grout according to the package instructions. Apply the grout using a float trowel, pushing it into the gaps between the tiles. Be sure to wipe excess grout off the surface of the tiles.

  1. Cleaning:
    • After applying the grout, use a damp sponge to clean any grout residue from the tile surface. Allow the grout to cure as per the manufacturer's instructions.

  1. Sealing (if needed):
    • Depending on the pebble used, you may need to apply a sealant before installation and once the grout has fully cured. This helps to protect the surface and enhance durability.

  1. Final Touches:
    • Inspect the installation for any missed spots or uneven areas. Make any necessary adjustments or touch-ups.

  • Always wear safety goggles and gloves when handling tiles and tools.
  • Work in small sections to ensure the adhesive doesn’t dry out before you place the tiles.
  • Allow the installation to cure for the recommended time before heavy use.
